Waterproof Luxury Vinyl Flooring
There are few truly waterproof flooring options available on the flooring market, but at Coastal Carpet One Floor & Home, we do everything we can to find the floors our customers are looking for. Living in a coastal town, many of our customers look for flooring that can resist water. We carry brands and products that are made to be 100% water proof.
What kind of Waterproof Flooring is Available?
There are two main waterproof flooring options available, luxury vinyl and wood polymer composite. Luxury vinyl normally comes as a water resistant option, but can be made to be entirely water proof. Wood polymer composite, or WPC, flooring is a truly waterproof product. The core of these products is made from materials that do not absorb moisture like PVC composite and limestone dust.
Benefits of Waterproof Flooring
An important thing we want our customers to know though is that even though the flooring itself is waterproof, your subflooring is not. We also want our customers to know there is a major difference between water proof flooring and water resistant flooring. Water resistant flooring however, means that the floor can withstand water longer than other flooring options. The surface of the flooring may be the water resistant component, but if the core becomes exposed to water then it can be absorbed and damage both the flooring and sub floor.
Waterproof and water resistant flooring can be installed anywhere in your home like kitchens, bathrooms, and even mudrooms. Make sure you stop by our Coastal Carpet & Tile Carpet One showroom in Destin, FL to check out our waterproof options.
